Famous Spanish skater at GUM-Skating Rink
On the eve of the European Figure Skating Championships and the long-awaited Mundial, which will take place in Moscow for the first time, the Spanish LaLiga, one of the most authoritative football leagues in the world, invited journalists and bloggers to play football. Not on an ordinary field, but on the Skating Rink at Red Square.
Javier Fernandez, the two-time world champion and five-time European champion in figure skating, with whom LaLiga has signed a sponsorship agreement, and Russian renowned athlete Evgeni Plushenko became the main characters of the press conference held after the football match.
For the first time in his life, Javier Fernandez played football at GUM-Rink together with Russian journalists. Mutual penalty shoot-out proved that winners all around: in football & figure skating and in Russia & Spain as well.
Javier Fernandez came to Moscow for the European Figure Skating Championships, which is held in Moscow for the first time. "It's my goal to win the European title for the sixth time in a row. My example will support many athletes and future talented athletes of course," Fernandez said.
See you at GUM Skating Rink!
