Mario Bellini Show at the Schusev Museum of Architecture
The 19th Cherry Forest Open Art Festival was launched in Moscow. This year the program opens with “Mario Bellini. Italian Beauty. Architecture, Design, and Something Else” Exhibition. It is a tribute to the internationally acclaimed Milanese architect and designer.
The exhibition is held at the Schusev State Museum of Architecture with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Russia, the Italian Cultural Institute in Moscow, and the Milanese Triennale.
The exhibition reveals the comprehensive range of the artist’s interests – from tableware and furniture to skyscrapers; it is a voyage to the world of architecture and design created by Bellini. The main motive featured in the title of the show is the theme of beauty. On display are unique pieces of furniture and design items that were made in Bellini’s innovative, almost revolutionary style. Among the iconic exhibits are: the first PC in history – R101, created back in 1965 and still running; Divisumma 18 – a touch screen prototype made from soft yellow rubber, a portable player Pop, an “ancestor” of the iPod.
Thanks to videos and immersive images that are projected on large screens, visitors can discover Bellini’s architectural projects in different parts of the world – from USA to France, from Australia to Germany.
The exhibition will be open until April 13, 2019 at the “Ruin” Wing of the Schusev Museum (5/25, Vozdvizhenka Street).
The exhibition will be presented on April 14-30 at Petrovsky Passage (10, Petrovka Street) and will be open for all visitors.
