At the Forefront of Russian Fashion in Smolensky Passage: public talk of MAKODAY brand

Launched in December 2016, BOSCOFAMILY’s project At the Forefront of Russian Fashion is gaining momentum steadily. On May 18th cozy BOSCOFAMILY space in Smolensky Passage will host the meeting with the designer of the Russian brand MAKODAY Irina Makoday.

She will tell the founder of PEOPLETALK Laura Jugelia about the debut collection of the brand, the sources of inspiration and the creative process, and also have a chat with the guests and help to choose SS looks.
Irina Makoday, the founder of the eponymous studio, which was opened in the center of Moscow over 10 years ago, established MAKODAY brand in 2016. The brand's essence is about a primordial understanding of femininity. Irina Makoday has developed a concept featuring the charm of the art of the past centuries embodied in the current trends.
That is how the first MAKODAY SS 2017 collection, inspired by the famous painting by Pablo Picasso "Bathers" appeared. The artist painted this canvas during one of the happiest periods of his life - a honeymoon with his beautiful wife Olga Khokhlova spent on the French Riviera. Escaping from the noisy and dusty Paris, they spent time in the beautiful villa, enjoying the sea and whirling in the circle of endless carnivals and parties.
The mood of serenity of summer holidays on the Cote d'Azur was transferred to the palette of the collection, which is about the abundance of azure sky and clouds, sand, bottomless sea depths, and red as the color of passion and love.
A la Picasso summer mood is guessed in loose yet graceful silhouettes, fine flying fabrics and translucent airy details. Weightless organza, silk muslin, light crepe-de-chine, plastic crepe, thin jersey, delicate batiste, French Chantilly lace, thin cashmere and cotton were chosen for the collection. Graceful lines and elegant laconic silhouettes are inspired by the cheerful and mischievous Picasso bathers.
The key models are decorated with an important detail – a hand-beaded beach ball.

Smolensky Passage now offers articles from the collections of Russian designers who have hold themselves out. You are welcome to appreciate Rasario, Maison ESVE, Laroom, CHAPURIN, Sergey Sysoev, Victoria Andreyanova, NOLO, Yanina, Chapurin, Birukov, Poustovit, Galina Pozolko, Izeta, Girlpower , Katya Dobryakova and other brands.
