On December 11, Film Studio Soyuzmultfilm, Artist Charity Foundation and Bosco di Ciliegi hosted the first Charity Gala at the Demonstration Hall of GUM to support animators and older directors.
Soyuzmultfilm established its charity foundation this year. It is symbolic that the first event of the Foundation on the eve of 2019 was carried out as part of the long-term partnership with the Artist Charity Foundation which supports the art community of Russia.
A festive collaboration of the two Foundations in the field of preservation of cultural heritage and helping veterans of the animation and movie industry in general was launched on December 11. It is especially important for charity organizations to combine their efforts to add new dimensions to their work, raise more funds, improve the quality and timeliness of the services provided to persons under their care.
The guest list included: Senior Vice-President of Sberbank Igor Kolomeisky, Russian entrepreneur and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Bosco Di Ciliegi Group Mikhail Kusnirovich, who housed the auction, Chairman of Soyuzmultfilm Film Studio Yuliana Slashcheva, General Director of ITAR-TASS Sergey Mikhailov, Head of Roskino Catherine Mtsitouridze, producer and businessman Leonid Ogarev, television presenter and editor-in-chief of the Russian edition of Cinema Reporter Maria Lemesheva, actress and TV presenter Irina Bezrukova, collector Valeriya Rodnyanskaya and many others. Andrey Malakhov, the host of the evening, opened the event.
Four unique doll installations inspired by renowned animation masterpieces were specially designed by masters of Soyuzmultfilm for the auction. The guests were also offered six one-of-a-kind dolls from the Hoffmaniada full-length animation movie (director Stanislav Sokolov) and two original sketches to the movie, as well as a New Year tree decorated with 65 plush Cheburashkas and an exclusive Little Humpbacked Horse shawl by Gourii. The total amount raised throughout the event exceeded 3.5 million rubles.
The guests of the event also watched the restored classical animated movie The Nutcracker (director Boris Stepantzev) with an accompaniment of a live orchestra – Novaya Rossiya State Symphonic Orchestra directed by one of the youngest conductors of Russia – Dmitry Vlasenko.
The event was organized by Bosco di Сiliegi. This partnership is not one time event. The Group of Companies and the Film Studio have already carried out several successful cultural and entertainment events, including the festive decoration of GUM and GUM Ice Rink on Red Square in the style of famous Russian cartoons. The launch of a capsule collection of clothes for adults and children together with Bosco Fresh will represent another line of business.
