Maslenitsa at GUM-Fair and GUM-Skating rink
Although Chinese New Year Festival is in full swing in GUM, we do not forget about the favorite Russian Maslenitsa.
You are welcome to the GUM Fair this festive weekend, February 17th and 18th.  We will be seeing in the long-awaited spring with noisy festivities: the program is about theater performances, stunt walkers and jugglers, songs and dances performed by a folklore ensemble.
You must savor our golden and hot pancakes, which are cooked according to an ancient recipe on an open fire. It is a whole culinary show! They are good in themselves or with honey, sour cream, caviar, jam or butter topping.
Do not forget about tea, mead and hot pies. Those who want a little bit of old Europe can enjoy fragrant mulled wine, hot Viennese waffles, grilled sausages or roasted chestnuts. Visit GUM-Skating rink after the meal: take advantage of skates’ hire if you do not have the skates. Skating on the perfect ice of Red Square with the views of GUM, the Kremlin towers and the majestic St. Basil’s Cathedral is surely an unforgettable experience in the afternoon and at night!
This year, the noisy fair and the main rink of the country are open until February 28th.
See you at the GUM-Fair and the GUM-Skating rink!
