On May 28th, immediately after the tree planting in Luzhniki, the trustees of the Open Arts Festival Chereshnevy Les presented the annual "Creative Discovery" award for the 8th time. The awarding ceremony of the prize given for the brightest creative discoveries of the year in various art fields like theater, music, cinema & literature took place at the open stage.
Opera singer Albina Shagimuratova, stage designer Maria Tregubova, actors of theater and cinema Igor Vernik, Philip Yankovsky, Yulia Peresild took the stage to reap the rewards for their creative work.
The first Oleg Yankovsky award was given to the opera singer Albina Shagimuratova in "Masterpieces for all time" nomination: Alexander Kibovsky presented the coveted statuette to the soloist of the Tatar Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet named after Musa Jalil.
Mikhail Kusnirovich asked Albina to perform something from her repertoire, and she pleased all the guests of the festival with her incredible talent, brilliantly singing one of the opera arias.
Philip Yankovsky received the "Creative Opening of the Year" award for the part of Yevgeny Yevtushenko in "The Mysterious Passion" series based on the novel by Vasily Aksenov. Being the member of the board of trustees of the festival, he did not know about the decision to award him with a prize. The touched Philip read Yevtushenko's "winter" verses within the ceremony and the lines resonated in the hearts of the audience.
Young actor Ivan Yankovsky was awarded for his outstanding part in the production of "Master and Margarita" staged by the Sergei Zhenovach Studio of Theater Arts. He could not come because of the tour in Omsk, but Mikhail Kusnirovich read Ivan's letter from the stage. A proud father Philip Yankovsky received an honorary statuette for his son.
Julia Peresild, the Honored Artist of Russia, received a prize in the nomination "She plays love incredibly ...". Peresild read a poem from the charity play "Cherry Poem-Making", which was showed within the festival Chereshnevy Les this year, and then sang "A song of a good mood" at the request of Mikhail Kusnirovich. A makeshift duo with another laureate Igor Vernik started from the second couplet.
Theater and cinema actor Igor Vernik received his "cherry” from the hands of the maître Oleg Tabakov for the role of the Dragon in the play of the same name based on the fairy tale by Yevgeny Schwartz staged at the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater.
The member of the board of trustees of the festival Ingeborga Dapkunaite presented the prize to the artist and stage designer Maria Tregubova. Maria is a graduate of the theatrical-decoration faculty of the Moscow State Academy of Architecture and Art, she has designed over 30 performances in various theaters.
The French businessman, the president of the group of companies Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy Bernard Arnoult was also presented with the award. Few people know that the permanent member of the Forbes list has a secret passion. It is music. The future billionaire conquered the heart of his wife, Canadian pianist Helene Mercier by playing Chopin's Revolutionary Etude. A man with a business acumen is not alien to the beautiful, and Mr. Arnault was awarded in "Breaking stereotypes" nomination. Vladimir Spivakov promised to personally give the statuette to the winner.
The actors of the Sovremennik Theater rounded off the ceremony by presenting the extracts from the "Neformat" play, which is also the laureate and the owner of the honorary cherry berry. The first night of this performance was held within the XVI Open Arts Festival Chereshnevy Les in 2016.
Football, bicycles, swimming pool and other amusements were prepared for the guests after the ceremony: after all, the awarding ceremony traditionally coincides with the onset of the long-awaited summer.

The guests were presented with test drive certificates of any model in Jaguar Land Rover Experience Center in Novorizhskoe highway. Special electric cars’ test drive was arranged for the youngest guests. Jaguar Land Rover employees together with their families took an active part in the tree planting. The participants of the project moved around driving exquisite Jaguar cars during the festival: compact sports sedan Jaguar XE, business sedan Jaguar XF and Jaguar F-PACE, which is on sale since June 2016 and has already become a real sales driver of the company.
