Paul Smith: a family portrait in the interior
Nothing can be more traditional and boring than a family portrait in the interior. But it is not the case with Paul Smith. The British brand, known for its eccentricity, sneers at eternal values in the new campaign, presenting them in a surrealistic way. The characters pose in paper masks that hide their faces as everyone has its own secrets and skeletons in the cupboards and its role, of course: here is a timid bunny, or a flirtatious kitty, or an impudent monkey.
Animalistic prints and feathers became one of the key motifs of the new FW collection. They are printed on silk, embroidered by hand on cashmere coats and decorated with leather accessories, they became the symbol of incredible lightness and brightness of the branded style.
The collection is filled with the recognizable patterns of the oldest British factories, including Lovatt and Hardy Minnis. There is not without the British "pillars" like Prince of Wales checks and the famous Black Watch tartan.
Jersey is also about a British accent: Scottish cashmere of muted shades and colorful jacquard add an incredible texture and color to strict shapes.
As usual with Paul Smith, classics and everyday life are de-structured: at the level of color, where the bright red of London phone booths and British racing green collide; At the level of textures, where coarse fabrics are combined with soft silk and cashmere ... And silhouette - narrow, fitted pants contrasts with the intentionally enlarged shoulder line. Standard British jackets and trench coats appear in unexpected combinations with sharp-nosed boots of snake skin, comfortable sneakers and loose sweaters with ethnic motifs.
The collection is in-store! You are welcome to the boutiques of the brand in GUM, Petrovsky Passage, Smolensky Passage and VESNA, as well as to the new store in St. Petersburg!
