New heads of Jil Sander brand
Jil Sander fashion house has officially announced about the appointment of Lucie and Luke Meier to the post of the new creative directors of the brand. Rodolfo Paglialunga, who announced about his leaving in March, is changed by their tandem.
The first work of the designers for the brand will be women's SS collection 2018. They will also work over men’s line together. This creative duo, which is experienced both in haute couture and streetwear direcions, can open a new chapter in the fashion industry.
Lucie Meier was born in Switzerland. In the age of 25 she joined the Louis Vuitton team under the leadership of Marc Jacobs. 5 years later she left for Balenciaga as a senior designer, and then Raf Simons invited her to head the women's department in Dior. She got the position of the second creative director of Dior after Simons leaving.
Luke Meier was born in Canada. He studied at the Institute of Fashion and Technology in New York. He started his creative way as the assistant of James Jebbia, the founder of Supreme - and worked as the chief designer of the brand for 8 years. Four years ago, Meier launched OAMC- top-quality street clothes brand, which is already presented in 100 stores around the world.
"We are very much proud that we were invited to head this wonderful brand and that we will work together,"- Luke and Lucie Meier confess. "My mom is the fan of Jil Sander. I got acquainted with fashion through this brand,"- Lucy said.
