Melting ice: the opening of GUM-Skating rink and GUM-Fair
Maslenitsa marks the end of winter. And its start is surely about by the opening of the GUM-Skating rink at Red Square. At least, Moscow dwellers are sure in it! For the 12th year in a row they have the opportunity to enjoy skating to rhythm of the familiar songs in the very heart of the capital next to the festively illuminated GUM, warm up with fragrant mulled wine and taste delicious pies!
The winter season was opened on November 29th this year. Aeronautics has become a new theme of the GUM-Skating rink & GUM-Fair design. The idea of flights in dreaming & waking was gladly supported by many Russian celebs.
A spectacular and exclusive "live-trailer" of the new show became the climax of the evening. Especially for the guests of the GUM-Rink, the Olympic champion Tatyana Navka and the two-time winner of the championship of Four Continents in ice dancing Peter Chernyshev presented fragments of a colorful musical on ice "Ruslan and Lyudmila", which starts in Moscow on December 23rd.
The event at Red Square also featured a visiting dignitary from the Kremlin. After having several circles on skates, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Arkady Dvorkovich, assured: the ice meets the world quality standards.
