People watch the sky for thousands of years: after all, the sun, stars and the moon served as landmarks in the calculation of time for centuries. However, the change of months can be tracked only with the help of moon phases. The legendary Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde model was replenished with one of the most complex functions - moon phase indicator in 2017. The elegant outlines of 43-mm watch with two overlapping dials form eight figure, which is a new symbol of completeness and harmony.
Jaquet Droz opted for the "astronomical" lunar phases’ indicator, which requires adjustment only once every 122 years and 46 days. The "135 movement" created by the craftsmen of the house, is more accurate than the classic model with 59 teeth gear.
The dial is available in three variations - stainless steel with opaline dial, stainless steel with Onyx dial, and 18k red gold with off-white grande feu enamel dial. The disc of the Moon is in the center of the lower dial: it is made of blued steel in the first two models. The third dial features onyx Moon disc. The stars of gold shine against the dark blue and black background of the miniature sky. The disk of the moon phases’ indicator moves clockwise every day, repeating the movement of the moon.
The watches can be ordered in the boutique of the brand in Petrovsky Passage.
