Jaquet Droz: a matter of time
Born in the Age of Enlightenment, Jaquet Droz brand continues to artfully combine design and wealth of materials and decoration with movements’ sophistication in its timepieces. Two new Grande Seconde models, each of which is released in a limited series of 8 copies, decorated with gold patterns against the background of bright & complicated enamel technique of the18th century with a dial of minerals are another proof of this fact.
GRANDE SECONDE PAILLONNÉE is one of the novelties. Gray dial made in hot enamel technique with paillonné finish features the counter of hours, minutes and seconds of silvery color. Paillonné stands for a small pattern or a flake of gold or silver in French. This complex technique requires great patience and incredible accuracy, because the work is done only by hand. Tiny patterns of the finest gold leaf are just amazing. 43 mm case of rose gold of the 750th hallmark hides self-winding movement with 68 hours’ power reserve. The model features dark gray alligator leather strap.
Another novelty, GRANDE SECONDE JADEITE, is also released in only 8 copies. The dial is made of jadeite. This mineral is the symbol of luck and health in the East. It was presented for the most solemn occasions. Counter of white mother-of-pearl stands out against the background of its gently green veins. Automatic movement with 68 hours power reserve is in its heart.
39 mm case and plated ring of the 750th hallmark white gold are encrusted with 240 and 88 diamonds respectively, a clasp is decorated with 24 diamonds. The total weight of diamonds equals to 2.02 carats. The model is added with a hand-stitched emerald satin strap.
The models are available in the boutique of the brand in Petrovsky Passage.
