BOSCOSFASHIONWEEK: Paul Smith - Why not dance?
On April 7th the Demonstration Hall of GUM hosted Paul Smith show. The surprise was prepared for all the guest of the event: the head of BOSCO DI CILIEGI group of companies with his sons Ilya and Mark appeared on the catwalk to the incendiary rhythms of British rock wearing Paul Smith total look.
The show was opened by the fashion expert Evelina Khromchenko. She told about the era, which was reflected in the new collection.
Then, models appeared on the runway to the sounds of the saxophone. The bright colors of sunny Jamaica turned into a rainbow stripped print on light sweaters, collars of polo-shirts and shirts and skirts’ belts. The lining of oversize summer coats hid another ironic print - a scheme of dance steps.
The boundaries between men's and women's Paul Smith collections are almost erased. It is not for nothing that the designer conducts joint shows within the Fashion Weeks. However, in addition to versatile trouser suits, checkered jackets and T-shirts, there are articles that still retain affiliation with gender. Men's collection features trousers with white stripes, inspired by the Russian military uniform and women's collection is about shirt-dresses, loose flared sarafans, loose skirts and light dust coats with abstract drawings.
The undisputed hit of the new collection is A Suit To Travel In, which is presented in turquoise, navy blue, orange and emerald hues this year. It is made in the best traditions of British tailors of 100% high twisted woolen yarn which is wrinkle and water proof. You can sleep having it on or take a 5 hour-long flight, even stand on your head and still keep an impeccable look.
You are welcome to Paul Smith store in GUM to choose your A Suit To Travel In and other parts of the look presented within the show.
