Blancpain: deep sense
Back in 1953 Blancpain released Fifty Fathoms - the first and most famous diving watch of the times, which was the part of the equipment of the  Navy corps swimmers. Knowing that a diver’s life depends on the reliable watch operation, the CEO of the manufactory Jean-Jacques Fiechter decided to equip this model with a water resistance indicator. Special disc changed the color from white to red in case of water penetration.
This legendary model inspired the creation of the new Fifty Fathoms MIL-SPEC, featuring its own automatic caliber Blancpain 1151 with a four-day power reserve. The movement can be seen through the transparent sapphire case back. The new watch has a full set of dive watch features that were set by the original Fifty Fathoms 1953 and adopted by the entire watch industry afterwards.
Indexes and hands with a yellow SuperlumiNova® coating look perfect against the black background of the dial, and the humidity indicator is at 6 o'clock position as before. The watch has water resistance up to 30 bar, which is equivalent to a depth of 300 meters. The model will be exhibited at the charity auction Only Watch in Geneva. The proceeds from the sale aim to fight against muscular dystrophy (AMM).
