Presentation of the book by Azary Plisetsky "Life in ballet. The Family Chronicles of the Plisetskys and the Messers ", published by the Elena Shubina Publishers with the support of the 18th Open Arts Festival Chereshnevy Les was held on March 28th
A book of memoirs by the famous choreographer and dancer Azary Plisetsky “Life in ballet. Family chronicles of the Plisetskys and Messerers” is issued in the Year of Ballet. It is the story of the legendary dynasty against the background of revolutions, wars, world upheavals. The book was published by the Elena Shubina Publishers with the support of the 18th Open Arts Festival Chereshnevy Les.

The author of the book Azary Plisetsky, the publisher Elena Shubina, the artist Boris Messerer, the writer and journalist Sergei Nikolaevich, the head of the press service of the Bolshoi Theater Ekaterina Novikova, the literary editor Vasily Snegovsky took part in the presentation.

Azary Plisetskiy: "I am a younger representative of the Plisetskys dynasty, and I was waiting for my turn to write this book. The wonderful memoirs of Maya Plisetskaya have been released. Boris Messerer & me have wrote a book already. It is my turn – I went for it at last. I wrote and tried not to repeat my famous predecessors. All the memories are written with utmost sincerity, I tried to make the book easy & vigorous - it's important, just like in ballet."

Sergei Nikolaevich: "You will find an amazing conversationalist and see the entire history of the second half of the XX century in this book. It's nice that the book is issued in the Year of Ballet, and that Elena Shubina publishes such memoirs. I want to note that the book was published with the support of the Chereshnevy Les festival, and this is not the first experience of joint cooperation of the festival and the Elena Shubina Publishers. In 2011, the collection "All About My Father" was published, where a variety of well-known and not very much known people share their family memories, and I'm happy to be involved in these projects as an editor."

Elena Shubina: "At first, Azary Mikhailovich was skeptical about the idea of creating another book of memoirs. But we managed to convince him. The result is a very exciting and interesting work. From the very beginning the book impresses the imagination with powerful material, described dynamically and fascinatingly. Azary Plisetsky had a huge influence on the development of the modern ballet: he was actually one of the creators of the Cuban ballet, he worked with the world's figures like Maurice Bejart and Roland Petit.
The wonderful designer Andrey Bondarenko, the artist of the book, did a great job of binding and choosing photos. We will conduct many meetings with our readers. One of the first meetings will take place in the Museum of History of the Gulag."

"Life in ballet. The Family Chronicles of the Plisetskys and the Messers "(Elena Shubina Publishers, 2018) is presented with the support of the 18th Open Arts Festival Chereshnevy Les. It will be available in online stores and bookstores all over Russia and abroad starting from April 2018.
