Bosco and Friends Foundation Host 3rd Bosco Friends Open Charity Tennis Tournament

The past weekend was notable not only due to the fine weather but also due to a remarkable sports/charity event: the Bosco Friends Open Tennis Tournament, organized by Bosco di Ciliegi and the Friends Foundation. On September 12, friends, partners, and clients of the tournament organizers headed to the Bosco Tennis Club at Luzhniki to view exciting tennis matches. For the third time in a row, Bosco Tennis Club hosted master tennis players, famous business leaders, and stars at its courts.

2016 Olympic champion and 2020 Olympics silver medal winner Elena Vesnina, 2020 Olympics mixed couples champion Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, 2008 Olympic champion Elena Dementieva, winner of one Grand Slam tournament Anastasia Myskina, creative director of Theatre on Malaya Bronnaya Konstantin Bogomolov, Vogue chief editor Xenia Solovyeva, hockey player Alexey Yashin, and many other sports- and businesspeople competed for the winning title at one of Moscow’s most famous tennis tournaments.

Bosco Friends Open is a unique event for the whole family, offering an unparalleled atmosphere of friendship and sportsmanship. More than 1000 people visit the Bosco Friends Open every year, including actors, musicians, athletes, TV presenters, and businesspeople of Russia. In 2021, Xenia Sobchak, Ingeborga Dapkūnaitė, Askold Zapashny, Alena Sviridova, Daria Poverenova, Yan Yanovksy, Anastasia Vinokur, Viktoria Borisevich, Igor Mirkurbanov, Vladislav Lisovets, Irina Yovovich, Daria Trubnikova, Varvara Subbotina, and many others were among the audience.

In the morning, Bosco Friends Open guests enjoyed a Bosco Workout session hosted by 2006 Olympic champion Tatiana Navka. The workout gave everybody a boost of energy and instantly put everybody in a great mood.

After the Bosco Workout session, guests took part in an archery tournament. Per tradition, the event is co-hosted by Bosco and the Russian Archery Federation. This year, the guests competed together with the silver medalists of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics: Svetlana Gomboeva, Xenia Perova, and Elena Osipova. The guests applauded the sportspeople and congratulated them on their success at the Olympics! Bosco presented the trio with Electra bikes for their participation in the Olympics. Prizes were also given to the winners of the archery tournament.

During the day entertainment zones were open to guests who were able to test out Electra bikes, drink coffee made with Saeco coffee machines in a zone recreating one of the alleys in Rome, play a gigantic version of Jenga in the Friends Foundation zone, visit the food court, and savor the famous GUM ice cream.

The tennis courts of Bosco Tennis Club were full of action and spectacle. TV presenter, winner of the TEFI award Konstantin Anisimov followed the tournament closely.

Bosco presented the new Bosco Team collection at Bosco Friends Open. All players wore uniforms from the collection that includes both everyday looks and professional training equipment.

The BOSCO FRIENDS OPEN 2021 Cup and the grand prize of the tournament – exclusive RADO watches – were awarded to professional tennis player Polina Golitsyna and OZK general director Dmitry Sergeev. Second place went to professional tennis player Polina Novikova and Rosbank Management Board chairman Ilya Polyakov, two pairs – Elena Vesnina/Konstantin Bogomolov and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova/Valery Kazikaev – shared third place.

Bosco di Ciliegi head Mikhail Kusnirovich and the people behind Friends Foundations – Gor Nakhapetyan, Yan Yanovksy, and Dmitry Yampolsky – presented the winners with the honorary cups and gifts. The guests of the event enjoyed the delightful Ferrari champagne. Friends Foundation sponsor Ingeborga Dapkūnaitė thanked the sportspeople and guests for participating in the tournament and contributing to the foundation, highlighting one of the foundation’s key programs: the Moscow School of Professional Philanthropy. During the event, the Foundation accepted donations for the school. Ultimately, one student will be able to study at the school for free in 2021-2022.
